East Hartford, MLC, Weaver Set to Open Softball Tournaments

GREATER HARTFORD, CT — Looking for their first-ever state championships, the softball teams from East Hartford and Weaver high schools and the Metropolitan Learning Center begin their quests with games Tuesday, as tournament pairings were announced Friday morning.

East Hartford, seeded fifth in Class LL, will host No. 18 Middletown. MLC is No. 23 in Class S and will travel to No. 10 Thomaston, while No. 32 Weaver visits Stafford, the top seed in Class S.

Top seeds in the other three divisions are Southington (LL), Masuk (L) and Northwestern Regional (M).
