East Hartford Obituary: Maria Morales-Rivera, 100

Maria Antonia Morales-Rivera, 100, of East Hartford, passed away on March 19, 2018.

She was born in San German, Puerto Rico, a daughter of the late Luis Morales and Ursula Colon. She came to the United States in 1959. She treasured the time spent with her all her grandchildren, she enjoyed embroidery, cooking, reading and tele-novelas.

She is survived by four daughters, Bernarda Valentin of East Hartford, Susana Burgos of Hartford, Celia Valentin of East Hartford and Anna Julia Rivera-Santos of Puerto Rico, her ten treasured grandchildren, Ramon Valentin, Jr. of East Hartford, Carmen Rivera, of Port St. Lucie, FL, William Burgos of Farmington, Fundador Burgos of Hartford, Myrlin Valentin of East Hartford, Edorbal Valentin, Jr., of East Hartford, Vionette Santos of Puerto Rico, Alejandro Rivera of Bloomfield, Asztrid Rivera, of Hebron, Anthony Rivera, of Bolton, sixteen great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Calixto Rivera, her son Ramon Rivera and two grandchildren Crimilda Santos and Norberto Burgos.

Funeral Services are Friday March 23, 2018 at 10AM at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford. Burial will follow in Mount St. Benedict’s Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visiting hours are Thursday, March 22, 2018, from 5PM-9PM at the funeral home.
