East Hartford Post Office Location To Move: Report
A post office location that has been around for more than eight decades will move.
EAST HARTFORD, CT — A federal post office branch at 850 Main St. will move after serving the area for more than 80 years, according to The Journal Inquirer. The U.S. Postal Service informed local officials in November of the intent to move to a different address.
A postal official told the Journal-Inquirer that postal service operations are not taxpayer funded and must prove to be economically viable.
However, the plan is to keep the post office in East Hartford but at a location that is the right size and convenient for the public.
