East Hartford Revokes Permit For Tesla Service Center: Report
The Planning and Zoning Commission has revoked a permit previously granted for a Tesla project.
EAST HARTFORD, CT — East Hartford’s Planning and Zoning Commission has voted unanimously to revoke a permit for a Tesla service center planned for 300 Connecticut Blvd., according to The Hartford Business Journal. The location would have been the electric vehicle maker's third in the state.
The commission approved the Tesla plans last April. Since then, the decision was criticized in a lawsuit filed by East Hartford-based Hoffman Auto Group, which claims that Tesla sells cars directly to consumers without going through dealerships, thereby skirting state laws that ban such sales.
