EAST HARTFORD, CT — East Hartford's Planning and Zoning Commission has <a href="https://www.hartfordbusiness.com/article/east-hartford-revokes-permit-for-planned-tesla-service-center" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">voted unanimously</a> to revoke a permit for a Tesla service center planned for 300 Connecticut Blvd., according to The Hartford Business Journal. The location would have been the electric vehicle maker's third in the state.The commission approved the Tesla plans last April. We’re excited to invite students in&nbsp;grades 4–7&nbsp;to campus for&nbsp;S.P.A.R.K.—a free, hands-on&nbsp;morning of discovery&nbsp;at Kingswood Oxford on&nbsp;Saturday, May 16.
S.P.A.R.K.&nbsp;stands for&nbsp;Science. Play. Action. Research. Knowledge,&nbsp;and that’s exactly what the morning is all about. Students will dive into interactive labs, ask big questions, and explore how science connects to the world around them.
Throughout the morning, students will rotate through all three engaging sessions:
Snack Science: Cracking the Code of Carbs, Fats &amp; Proteins
Students will test everyday foods to uncover the building blocks of life - carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins.
From Cabbage to Chemistry: A Color-Changing Exploration of pH
Using red cabbage as a natural indicator, students will experiment with acids and bases and watch chemistry come alive in vibrant color.
Air Apparent: The Invisible Force All Around Us
Through hands-on experiments, students will explore the properties of air—and discover just how powerful something invisible can be.
