Easterseals Capital Region & Eastern Connecticut announces the appointment of three new board members
Windsor, CT (Dec 20, 2022) – Easterseals Capital Region & Eastern Connecticut, a leader in expanding access to healthcare, education, and employment opportunities for those with disabilities and our veteran population, announced the addition of three new members to its Board of Directors: Dave Stevens, David Hess, and David Verrone.
“Each of these new board members brings unique experience to our organization while sharing a passion for the extraordinary care and programs we have delivered to some of the most vulnerable in our community for nearly 75 years,” said Robin Sharp, President & CEO of Easterseals Capital Region & Eastern Connecticut.
Dave Stevens of Bristol, CT: Dave is an Emmy-Award-winning broadcasting professional with ongoing success in the creation of on-air content. He has worked for 37 years in Sports Television, including winning seven Emmys during his 20-year career at ESPN. Born without legs and put up for adoption at birth, he became the only legless college football player in NCAA history and was good enough to try out for the Dallas Cowboys. He was the only legless professional baseball player in sports history, starting games at second base and even pinch hitting in a game for Darryl Strawberry. Dave is an Easterseals Ambassador, passionate about inclusion, and has been a keynote speaker at major Easterseals events—encouraging all to believe in “all abilities and limitless possibilities.”
David Hess of Middletown, CT:
For the last 10 years, David has been the CFO of for-profit companies catering to many of the same individuals that Easterseals serves. Most recently, at Numotion and Lifeway Mobility, David demonstrated success building high performing financial, administrative, and operational infrastructures growing B2B and B2C services. He has gained expert knowledge of family needs in complex rehab spaces and home accessibility. David will serve as Treasurer on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors.
David Verrone of Mendon, MA:
David is currently a Webster Bank Senior Vice President on the commercial banking side, responsible for the delivery of services and customer satisfaction for all commercial and government banking clients. He has extensive experience in client services and operations management and is highly skilled in strategic planning and project management. David oversees and directs multiple teams including the commercial cash management service team, implementation team and deposit support services team. David serves as a critical liaison on multiple cross-functional teams including Treasury and Payment Solutions, Product, Sales, Operations and Banking Centers throughout the organization. David’s family has been personally impacted by a long battle with Alzheimer’s Dementia, and he understands that Easterseals is focused on helping individuals through all stages of life.
“We are extremely fortunate to have three accomplished individuals join our board given our long-term strategic growth initiatives,” said Jocelyn Belisle, Board Chair of Easterseals Capital Region & Eastern Connecticut.
