Extensive Repaving Project Underway In Hartford

This week, the City of Hartford began a large paving project in the city's Main Street.

HARTFORD, CT — The City of Hartford announced it has begun extensive work to resurface, repave and restripe a stretch of Main Street in Downtown Hartford.

The work began Saturday, April 15, taking place on Main Street from Gold Street to Wyllys Street and it will result in temporary construction disruptions.

Weather permitting, the construction is anticipated to take 30 days.

From April 15-23, work will be conducted between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.

From April 24 to May 2, milling and paving will take place between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.

From May 3-15, the project will wrap up construction, which will also take place between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.

City officials said the contractor may work outside of these times to complete minor or intermittent tasks.

Street parking is expected to be limited during this period, with more prevalent daytime impacts during the first week of construction and evening impacts in the following weeks.

Transit stops may also temporarily shift during construction.
