Extreme Cold Warning Issued For Hartford And Tolland County

Here are new details on just how cold it will feel this weekend.

NORTHERN CONNECTICUT, — An extreme cold warning is in effect from 6 p.m. Saturday to 1 p.m. Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

"Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 25 to 30 below expected," according to the weather service. "...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes."

This Afternoon: A chance of snow, mainly before 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 22. Wind chill values as low as -4. Blustery, with a northwest wind 17 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around -2. Wind chill values as low as -17. Blustery, with a northwest wind 14 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 16. Wind chill values as low as -19. Northwest wind around 14 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around -1. Wind chill values as low as -13. Northwest wind 6 to 8 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 27. Northwest wind 6 to 9 mph.
