Family Displaced After House Fire In Hartford Thursday: FD
Hartford firefighters contained a basement fire on Harbison Avenue, forcing one family out of their home.
HARTFORD, CT — A basement fire at a single-family home on Harbison Avenue displaced a family of three Thursday evening, according to the City of Hartford Fire Department.
Fire crews responded at 7:05 p.m. to a reported structure fire at 101 Harbison Ave.,the department said in a statement.
On arrival, firefighters encountered a working fire in an occupied 2½-story home.

The fire began in the basement and extended to the first floor before crews brought it under control, the HFD said.
No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.

Firefighters contained the blaze and prevented further damage to the home, the department said. Crews remained on scene to complete overhaul operations.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Hartford Fire Marshal’s Office.
The department’s Special Services Unit is working with the American Red Cross to assist a displaced family of two adults and one child.
