Federal Officer Shoots, Kills Man In Hartford
A man who exchanged gunfire with an FBI officer was shot and killed Wednesday morning.
HARTFORD, CT — An FBI task force member shot and killed a man who fired at police Wednesday morning, according to a police statement. The FBI task force was in the area of Enfield Street executing a federal arrest warrant at around 9 a.m.
The task force arrested the target of the warrant and took him into custody. Another man became involved and exchanged gunfire with task force members, according to a police statement.
Hartford detectives assigned to the task force were part of the operation but did not fire their weapons. Several Hartford police officers responded following the exchange of gunfire.

Body camera footage has been turned over to state police.
The identity of the man shot and killed has not been released.

"No Hartford detectives fire their weapons, and we will cooperate fully with the investigation," said Police Chief Jason Thody. "Our condolences go out to the family of the individual who was killed today and our thoughts are with the task force officers during this difficult time."
The New Haven state's attorney is investigating the shooting, according to The New Haven Register.
