Firefighters Extinguish Blaze At Downtown Hartford Building

The fire department's rapid response prevented the blaze from spreading to the building's interior.

HARTFORD, CT — Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish a fire on the exterior of the building at 5 Constitution Plaza on Tuesday morning, according to a Facebook post from the department. The second-alarm fire caused extensive damage to the exterior ceiling tiles, insulation, and exterior heating units.

No injuries were reported, and the fire did not extend to the building's interior due to the department's rapid response.

The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze.
