Hartford Market To Celebrate Oktoberfest With Beer And Brats

HARTFORD, CT – Oktoberfest returns to Connecticut’s first food hall this October, with a full slate of festive activities throughout the first two weekends in October.

Parkville Market, a dining and entertainment destination in the heart of Hartford’s Parkville neighborhood, will be filled with the aroma of delicious food and beer, the sights of lederhosen, and the taste of tradition.

Parkville’s Oktoberfest, modeled after the famed fall festival in Munich, is free to the public .

Event dates are: Saturday, Oct. 1; Sunday, Oct. 2; Saturday, Oct. 8; and Sunday, Oct. 9.

An outdoor (and fully tented) biergarten will feature a 12-tap outdoor bar serving beer from Counter Weight Brewing Co. and Boston Beer Co.

Attendees who purchase food and beer vouchers in advance will receive a refillable stein and a swag bag.

“Grab your steins and lederhosen,” said Parkville Market President Chelsea Mouta. “We are so excited to be hosting our second annual Oktoberfest celebration in the heart of downtown Hartford. This year, we are transforming our patio area into a biergarten, fully tented, making sure this party can go on rain or shine."

Oktoberfest at Parkville Market will have a full slate of events, including competitions for stein hoisting, yodeling and a German spelling bee.

There will also be prizes awarded for best dressed. Each weekend will feature special competitions, games and fun events.

Tapping into Oktoberfest traditions, Parkville’s Portly Pig will be serving bratwurst grinders and Randy’s Wooster St. Pizza is offering hot and fresh pretzels.

A wide variety of other food options are available at Parkville Market’s 18 vendors.

Parkville Market is located at 1400 Park St. Parking is available on site and in three adjacent lots.
