Gifts of Love Welcomes New Executive Director
Laura Marchese brings extensive nonprofit experience to local nonprofit.

AVON, CT — (March 10, 2025) Gifts of Love proudly announces the appointment of Laura Marchese as its new Executive Director, succeeding Lisa Gray, who is retiring after years of dedicated service.
“We are thrilled to welcome Laura to the Gifts of Love family,” said Robert Wong, President of the Board of Directors. “Laura brings extensive leadership experience in the nonprofit sector, and while Lisa Gray’s guidance and service will certainly be missed, she is leaving Laura with a strong foundation for growth.”
Marchese brings a wealth of experience in nonprofit leadership, having served as Director of Leadership Giving at Central Connecticut State University, where she holds the title of Emeritus. Her career also includes serving as Development Director for Prudence Crandall, Executive Director for the Lupus Foundation of America, and holding various development, leadership, and administrative positions at community colleges across Connecticut, as well as the CAEYC and HAEYC early childhood education associations.

Marchese holds a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management and Philanthropy from Bay Path University and has a strong background in nonprofit and foundation management. She is eager to guide Gifts of Love into its next phase of growth, advancing its mission of neighbors helping neighbors.
“I am excited to join Gifts of Love at such an important time for our mission,” said Marchese. “We are serving more clients than ever across our Avon and Hartford offices, with the need in Hartford in particular outpacing our resources. I am eager and proud to help grow this organization and serve our wonderful community.”

Marchese steps into her role as Gifts of Love gears up for its 5th Annual Golf Tournament, taking place on Monday, May 19, at the Golf Club of Avon.
“What a way to begin my time with the organization! The golf tournament has a rich tradition of bringing the community together to support our mission, and I can’t wait to dig into this special event.”
