Hartford Announces Recall Of Cookies Due To 'Unlabeled Coconut'

The cookies are often sold in Hispanic specialty food stores, including those sold in the city.

HARTFORD, CT — City officials last week announced that cookies sold in specialty food stores common in Hartford has been recalled.

The city said on Dec. 12 that "Melvas Ho Cookies Maribel," which are sold in many Hispanic food specialty stores, including those in Hartford were recalled.

This is because they contained "unlabeled coconut," which to those allergic to coconut, can be a serious medical situation.
