Hartford Building Evacuated After Apparent Pipe Bomb Found: PD

An investigation into the incident is ongoing, according to police.

HARTFORD, CT — A building at 127 Wyllys St. was evacuated Wednesday afternoon after an apparent pipe bomb was found inside a recently-vacated apartment, according to police.

Police said they responded to the building around 1:06 p.m.

The evacuation was done as a precaution, and no one was injured, according to police.

The Hartford Police Bomb Squad safely neutralized the device, police said.

The Major Crimes, Crime Scene, and Intelligence Divisions have assumed the investigation, which is active and ongoing.
