Hartford Development To Include Grocery Store

Adding a grocery store is part of the plan for a massive new development that will also bring up to 1000 apartments and retail space.

HARTFORD, CT — A developer in Hartford's Downtown North neighborhood said his plans include adding a grocery store to the area surrounding Dunkin' Donuts Park, The Hartford Business Journal reported. Developer Randy Salvatore said the plan is to bring ground in the spring on the $200 million project, which will bring 800 to 1000 new apartments and 30,000 square feet of living space.

The need for a grocery store has been mentioned frequently by local advocates who say the area is a food desert.
