Need To Get Vaccinated About More Than Just COVID: Hartford
The Hartford Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) kicked off a new campaign to get people vaccinated.
HARTFORD, CT — COVID no longer carries apocalyptic concerns like, say, a couple years ago and the presence of readily available, effective vaccines is a major reason why.
But a vaccine can't help unless people take advantage of them and the City of Hartford is embarking on a pro-vaccination campaign aimed at getting folks to get the shots necessary to maintain health.
And, this campaign is not just about COVID. It's about a litany of respiratory illnesses that have vaccines and can wreak havoc on our bodies this time of year.

The campaign was launched in preparation for the anticipated surge in infections during the winter/holiday season.
The campaign offers information about COVID-19 and the importance of vaccines in keeping people protected against infectious diseases.
The site will also offer resources on where to get vaccinated, including the many vaccination clinics offered by the department throughout the city during the month.
“With rising infection rates for COVID, the flu, and RSV, it’s as important as ever to stay up to date on your vaccines and to get the latest information in protecting from these infectious diseases,” said Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin.
“Our health and human services team is working hard to make these vaccines as accessible as possible for our residents, so be on the lookout for a vaccine clinic in your neighborhood this winter. We encourage everyone to get vaccinated to keep yourself and your family healthy and safe this winter season.”
“The campaign’s vaccination messages will inform Hartford residents about COVID, the flu, and the importance of getting vaccinated/boosted. This campaign will strengthen DHHS efforts to keep the Hartford community healthy by promoting vaccination against what remains life-threatening viruses like COVID, and the resurgence of childhood diseases like polio due to vaccine hesitancy due to misinformation,” said Delita Rose-Daniels, public health program manager.
