Hartford Firefighters Battle Blaze In Apartment Building: HFD

The Hartford Fire Department extinguished a third-floor attic fire that displaced seven adults.

HARTFORD, CT — Several resident were displaced after a fire tore through their apartmentbuilding's attic Tuesday morning.

The Hartford Fire Department responded to a structure fire at a multi-family home located at 579-581 New Britain Ave., according to the HFD.

The fire was in the city’s Southwest neighborhood, and fire crews were dispatched at 9:02 a.m. to the scene.

Upon their arrival, firefighters encountered an active fire situated in a third-floor attic apartment.

The department reported that crews acted quickly to address the situation. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control.

All occupants of the building evacuated safely, and no injuries were reported during the incident.

After controlling the fire, crews remained on the scene to conduct overhaul operations.

The Hartford Fire Marshal’s Office has initiated an investigation into the cause of the fire.

The Special Services Unit of the Hartford Fire Department is working in conjunction with the American Red Cross to assist.
