A Hartford man has been sentenced to four years in prison.

HARTFORD, CT — A Hartford gang member has been sentenced to four years in federal prison for dealing fentanyl, according to a statement from federal prosecutors. Luis Colon, aka "Shoes" and "Zapato," 50, will also serve five years of supervised release.

According to prosecutors, the FBI’s Northern Connecticut Gang Task Force began investigating Ricardo Reyes, aka "Rick the Ruler," a member of the Los Solidos street gang, in 2018. He was believed to have been dealing fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, and crack in the area of Park Street and Hungerford Street in Hartford.

Law enforcement conducted multiple controlled purchases of narcotics from Reyes. Court-authorized wiretaps confirmed that Reyes was distributing drugs to numerous customers, and identified people who supplied drugs to Reyes and associates, including Colon, who sold drugs on his behalf.
