Hartford HealthCare Marks the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 with a Firsthand Reflection from Jeffrey Flaks

HARTFORD, Conn. — As the nation commemorates the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, Hartford HealthCare is honoring the memory of those who lost their lives and recognizing the extraordinary courage of first responders and healthcare professionals who responded in the aftermath.

Hartford HealthCare President and CEO Jeffrey A. Flaks offers a moving firsthand account of his experience on September 11, 2001, while working at St. Vincent's Hospital in Manhattan, the closest trauma hospital to the World Trade Center.

In a brief video reflection, Flaks recalls witnessing the attacks unfold, the immediate response of physicians, nurses and trauma teams, and the profound sense of duty that united healthcare workers and first responders during one of the darkest days in American history.
