Hartford Hosts St. Patrick’s Day Road Race
Local roads to be impacted by O'Hartford 5K

The annual O’Hartford 5K is back for a St. Paddy’s celebration in Hartford’s historic Colt neighborhood on Sunday, March 17, 2019. Over 2,000 participants will enjoy a festive 3.1 mile run or walk and a post-race party at Thomas Hooker Brewery. Bagpipers, Irish step dancers, plus prizes awarded to the most uniquely dressed participants await at CT’s biggest St. Paddy’s Day road race!
Participants are asked to bring donations and non-perishable foods to benefit The Open Hearth of Greater Hartford.
Runners and walkers will be on local roads between 10:00am - 3:00pm on Sunday. Roads will reopen as runners pass. When possible, police will direct crossing traffic during the race. Community members should note the following:

- Huyshope Avenue (Between Sequassen Street & Masseek Street): 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Van Dyke Avenue, Maseek Street, Sequassen Street, Nepaquash Street, Huyshope Avenue: 12:15 PM - 2:00 PM
- Wawarme Avenue, Morris Street, Wyllys Street (Between Wethersfield Ave & Charter Oak Ave), Wethersfield Avenue (Between Wyllys St & Morris St), Charter Oak Avenue (Between Wyllys St & Huyshope Ave): 12:45 PM – 2:00 PM
The O’Hartford 5K is one of four festive “O’Races” produced by the Hartford Marathon Foundation. The series features four 5Ks across Connecticut, four epic post-race parties and four custom finisher medals that connect to form a Celtic knot. It all starts in Southington at the O’Shenanigans 5K on March 9.

After Southington, the series moves to Putnam for the Courthouse O’Putnam 5K on Sunday, March 10, then to the O’Niantic 5K on March 16 and culminates with the O’Hartford 5K.
The races welcome all ages and abilities, with a "Wee Mile" (¼ or ½ mile) race option for the littlest leprechauns (ages 2-11).
