Coronavirus Hartford: Hotel Will Permanently Close: Report

HARTFORD, CT — Homewood Suites by Hilton will close its Asylum Street location for good due to uncertainty following the spread of coronavirus, a source told Hartford Business Journal. About 40 people who work at the 116-room hotel will lose their jobs.

Nationally it's expected that 140 million hotel rooms will become empty in the next month. Ownership of Homewood Suites said it made little sense to stay in business while occupancy dwindled and quarantines were imposed, Hartford Business Journal reported.
