Hartford Man Charged With Stealing Baby Formula Multiple Times from Vernon Store

He was picked up on warrants last week, police said.

VERNON, CT — A Hartford man has been booked on three warrants charging him with stealing baby formula from a local Walgreens, Vernon police said.

Jeffrey Hightower, 48, of Alden St., Hartford, was delivered to Vernon police by Hartford police last Thursday, according to law enforcement records.

He was charged in each warrant with both sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny, police said.

Baby formula theft has become more common in recent years because not only is it used for infant nutrition, but to produce or cut some illegal drugs, police said.
