Hartford Man Guilty Of Murdering Man In 2019
According to evidence introduced at the trial, the offender had a personal animus toward the victim.
HARTFORD, CT — A Hartford man has been convicted of shooting and killing a 28-year-old city resident with whom he had a dispute with in 2019, according to state court officials.
Sharmese L. Walcott, Hartford state’s attorney, announced Friday Antoine Keaton, 30, was found guilty by a jury of murder and criminal possession of a firearm.
Keaton’s conviction in Hartford Superior Court Tuesday stems from the shooting death of Anthony Wright, 28, of Hartford, who was shot multiple times at close range on Main Street in Hartford on July 12, 2019.

According to evidence introduced at the trial, Keaton had a personal animus toward the victim from a previous incident, Walcott said.
On the particular day, the defendant walked past the victim, turned around and shot him six times in the chest and back, Walcott said. The victim was pronounced dead on scene.

The case was prosecuted by Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney Robert Diaz and Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney Stacey Cox.
Inspector Luis Rodriguez was assigned to the case. Judge Carl J. Schuman presided over the trial.
Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 15, 2023 in Hartford Superior Court.
