Hartford Man Pleads Guilty To Felony Gun Possession
A federal judge has scheduled a sentencing in September.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A Hartford man has pled guilty to illegal gun possession by a felon charges, according to the U.S. Attorney's office out of Connecticut Thursday evening.
Vanessa Roberts Avery, U.S. Attorney for Connecticut, said Eric White, 31, of Hartford, pleaded guilty Thursday before U.S. District Judge Kari A. Dooley in Bridgeport to one count of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
According to court documents and statements made in court on Feb. 17, 2021, Hartford Police arrested White after they found him in possession of a loaded .45-caliber Taurus handgun.

Avery said White’s criminal history includes state felony convictions for assault and narcotics offenses.
She said it is a violation of federal law for a person previously convicted of a felony offense to possess a firearm or ammunition that has moved in interstate or foreign commerce.

White has been detained since his arrest.
Dooley scheduled a sentencing for Sept. 30, with White facing a maximum term of imprisonment of 10 years, according to a release from th U.S. Attorney's office.
The investigation was conducted by the FBI's Connecticut Violent Crime Task Force and the Hartford Police Department.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer R. Laraia.
