Hartford Man Recorded Sexual Abuse Of Minor For 3 Years: Feds
A Hartford man has pleaded guilty to child pornography charges, according to federal prosecutors.
HARTFORD, CT — A Hartford man has pleaded guilty to child pornography charges, according to a statement from Leonard C. Boyle, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut. Roberto Acosta Torres, 61, will be sentenced Nov. 9 and faces a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 15 years and a maximum term of imprisonment of 30 years.
According to prosecutors, Acosta Torres coerced a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct with him and video recorded the abuse from April 2016 to February 2019.
Law enforcement searched his home Dec. 18, 2019, and seized numerous electronic storage devices. They found at least 18 videos of Acosta Torres sexually abusing the minor victim, and hundreds of videos of other adults and children engaged in sexually explicit conduct, according to prosecutors.

He has been detained since his arrest in December 2019.
