Hartford Man Sentenced In Fentanyl Dealing Case: Feds

Tylon Hicks will serve more than six years in prison on fentanyl dealing charges.

HARTFORD, CT — A Hartford man has been sentenced to more than six years in prison for dealing fentanyl, according to a statement from John H. Durham, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut. Tylon Hicks, 44, will also serve four years of supervised release.

According to prosecutors: In August 2019, the FBI’s Northern Connecticut Gang Task Force received information that Tylon Hicks’ brother, Troy Hicks, was involved in dealing heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine.

Troy Hicks and Tylon Hicks were arrested after they arrived together at a meeting set up by investigators. A search of Tylon Hicks’ person found he was carrying about 48 grams of fentanyl.

Investigators search a vehicle they arrived in and found 103 dose bags of fentanyl and about three grams of cocaine.

Tylon Hicks has a criminal history that dates to 1993, and he was on parole for a felony drug conviction when he committed this crime.

Tylon Hicks pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl.

Troy Hicks pleaded guilty to drug and firearm offenses and awaits sentencing.
