Hartford Man Shot on Barbour Street

Police received a ShotSpotter activation just after midnight Friday.

HARTFORD, CT — A Hartford man with a lengthy arrest record was shot early Friday morning, according to police.

At 12:10 a.m. a Hartford Police Department ShotSpotter activation indicated that four rounds had been fired in the area of 138 Barbour Street. Several minutes later, two 911 calls came in, Deputy Chief Brian Foley said.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers located a male suffering from a single small caliber gunshot wound to the shoulder. The victim, who was found sitting on the front porch of 149 Barbour Street, was alert and conscious, and gave varying details of the incident, Foley said.

Based on ShotSpotter mapping, officers recovered three .22 caliber casings at said intersection, Foley said.

The victim, an unidentified 27-year-old man with a record of 27 arrests in Hartford, was taken to St. Francis Hospital, treated and released, according to Foley.

The Hartford Police Department Major Crimes Division is investigating the shooting.
