HARTFORD, CT –Following the passage of HB 6667, which includes proposals Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin and a coalition of mayors and advocates proposed earlier this year to increase accountability for repeat firearm offenders, Bronin praised the new legislation.

"The gun bill that passed the House today includes important provisions that increase accountability for serious repeat firearm offenders. These are common sense changes focused specifically on those individuals most responsible for the gun violence that destroys lives in our communities. I want to thank the House of Representatives, Judiciary chairs Rep. Steve Stafstrom and Sen. Gary Winfield, and Governor Lamont, for their partnership in moving these reforms forward, and I want to thank the strong coalition of mayors, families of victims, advocates, law enforcement, the State's attorney's office, and many others who joined in developing and advocating for these reforms."
