Hartford Nail Salon Owner Sues State Over Virus Restrictions

HARTFORD, CT — A Hartford nail salon owner has filed a lawsuit against the state due to the ongoing shutdown of business during the pandemic, The Hartford Business Journal reported. Luis Ramirez, who owns Roxy Nail Design on Park Street, filed the suit Monday at Hartford Superior Court.

Ramirez's attorney told the Hartford Business Journal that he is arguing that nail and hair salons pose the same risk but have been treated differently. Hair salons were allowed to reopen June 1, whereas nail salons will have to wait until June 17.
