As proud as Earl was to be an American, he was extremely proud of his German heritage. In addition he was a lover of baseball (Uncle Fred Schmidt played for the Cardinals), surfing the web with his Ipad, an avid reader with a passion to always learn. In addition, he was quite the cribbage and setback challenger. No stranger to the kitchen he made the best apple pies ever.
But Earl's true legacy was his deep love for his family, his kindness to everyone, his generosity, always giving selflessly of himself and especially his warm and humorous nature.
