Hartford Physical Therapist to Present at Orlando Conference
Stephen Johnson has been invited to speak at the 2019 American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists' Annual Conference.

Physical Therapist Stephen Johnson has been invited to speak at the 2019 American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists’ Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida, on Oct. 26. Johnson practices at Hartford Hospital where he works in the acute care setting.
Johnson will deliver a presentation entitled, “Implementing graded motor imagery (GMI) into clinical practice for patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain.” The lecture will highlight a new treatment strategy that aims to retrain areas of the brain and nervous system that sometimes demonstrate altered processing in people who live with pain, particularly if the pain persists for extended periods of time.
Johnson received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Assumption College and his doctor of physical therapy degree from Boston University.
