Hartford Police Arrest 9 In Dirt Bike Sting

Police made nine arrests and seized stolen property in busting the illegal use of dirt bikes.

HARTFORD, CT — Police made nine arrests related to unlawful ATV and dirt bike use. Police also said they recovered two stolen dirt bikes, one stolen motor vehicle, and one gun in the operation.

One of those arrested also had an active felony warrant connected with a shooting.

Ten dirt bikes were seized and police said they have seized 30 in three weeks.

City ordinances dictate how dirt bikes can be operated legally, including conforming to all DMV regulations on lights, blinkers, registration, insurance, etc.

"These operations are targeted endorsement for packs and individuals operating recklessly and dangerously on city streets and in parks," police posted on social media. "All recovered stolen vehicles/dirt bikes/ATVs are immediately returned to the owners. A court will determine what will happen w/those that are unregistered and those w/no proof of ownership."
