Hartford Police To Conduct DUI Checkpoint This Week, Find Out Where
Hartford police will hold a DUI enforcement checkpoint on Thursday, July 2, as part of a state-funded safety initiative.
HARTFORD, CT — Hartford police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Wethersfield Avenue this week as part of an ongoing effort to reduce impaired driving.
The Hartford Police Department's Traffic Division will operate an OUI (Operating Under the Influence) Enforcement Checkpoint on Thursday, July 2, from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday, July 3, in the vicinity of 217 Wethersfield Ave.
The checkpoint is part of the department's expanded OUI enforcement program, which is supervised by the Traffic Division and funded through a grant from the Connecticut Department of Transportation's OUI Enforcement Program.

Police are encouraging motorists to make transportation plans before drinking and to avoid driving while impaired.
"Drive sober or get pulled over," the department said in announcing the checkpoint.
