HARTFORD, CT — A Hartford high school principal scared off a bear cub Thursday morning.
Two students saw the bear at University High School of Science and Engineering and one ran away, according to the Hartford Courant.

The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection suggests those who come across bears make their presence known and back away slowly if they startle a bear. People shouldn't run from bears and should make noise, wave their arms and throw objects at the bear.
