Hartford Radio Personality Apologizes for Offensive Video
96.5 TIC FM and host Gary Craig both apologized for his comments made during last weekend's Latino Fest.

HARTFORD, CT - Longtime radio host Gary Craig has found himself in hot water after posting a video to YouTube where he pokes fun at Latino culture.
In the video, which has since been taken down from both YouTube and the website of 96.5 TIC FM, Craig made offensive comments at last weekend's Latino Fest, at one point mimicking Desi Arnaz and Cuba at a booth proudly displaying the Puerto Rican flag.

Early in the video, which Patch has viewed but opted not to publish, Craig says he must be "in some sort of parallel universe" amidst revelers at the annual event on the capital city's riverfront.
WTIC-FM, which has employed Craig for many years, issued a statement Wednesday, as did Craig himself.

The station said, "Gary’s video was inappropriate and was not in line with our station’s values. We are taking this matter seriously and have communicated to Gary that there is no place for this type of content on our station."
Craig stated, "I recognize that it was a poor attempt at being humorous. It was insensitive and stupid, and I sincerely apologize."
Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin stated on Twitter, "Gary Craig's video is repulsive and bizarre. I was at the riverfront Saturday afternoon, and the festival was everything I love about our city: people of all different backgrounds coming together at our beautiful riverfront to celebrate the dance, music and food of one of our largest and most vibrant cultural communities here in Hartford. CBS Local Media, the owner of 96.5 TIC FM, should get this trash off of their website."
