Hartford School Security Guard Charged With Sexual Assault

He turned himself in to Hartford police Thursday, and faces three counts of sexual assault.

HARTFORD, CT — Police have charged a security guard at a city magnet school with three counts of sexual assault, in connection with allegations that he engaged in sexual acts with a student.

Culminating an investigation that began nearly a year ago, police on Thursday charged Leonardo Badillo-Perez, 25, with two counts of second-degree sexual assault and a single count of fourth-degree sexual assault. Bail was set at $200,000.

Badillo-Perez had been employed by U.S. Security, assigned as a guard at the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts in Hartford, where the sexual acts are alleged to have taken place. He is no longer working at the school, Capitol Region Education Council Superintendent Tim Sullivan said.
