Hartford School System Fires Coach; DCF Investigating
The coach is being investigated by the Department of Children and Families, by whom he is employed.

HARTFORD, CT — The head football coach at Bulkeley High School has been fired and an investigation into child safety has been launched by the state Department of Children and Families, theHartford Courant reported.
Pablo Ortiz, Jr., 53, who has coached the Bulldogs since 2010, was let go in a letter dated Jan. 27 from Natasha Banks, executive director of human resources for Hartford Public Schools.
DCF confirmed it is investigating Ortiz, who is a social worker with the agency.
