Hartford Schoolteacher Charged With Sexual Assault

A lengthy investigation began in mid-June by state police, and a warrant was executed Friday.

HARTFORD, CT — A teacher at A.I. Prince Technical High School was arrested Friday on a warrant charging him with fourth-degree sexual assault.

Joseph Corbett, 61, of Plainville, turned himself in at state police Troop H in Hartford after learning of the warrant. He was released on a $2,500 nonsurety bond, and is scheduled to appear Sept. 12 in Hartford Superior Court.

An arrest report says the school resource officer at Prince Tech "initiated an investigation into inappropriate misconduct by one of the school teachers" on June 13. After a lengthy investigation, an arrest warrant for Corbett was granted by the Hartford Superior Court State's Attorney's office.
