Hartford Man Sentenced For Dealing Fentanyl, Crack: Feds

Nathaniel DeJesus will serve three years in federal prison on drug dealing charges.

HARTFORD, CT — A Hartford man was sentenced to three years in prison for fentanyl and crack cocaine dealing, according to prosecutors. Nathaniel DeJesus, 21, will also serve four years of supervised release.

Following a surge in gun violence in July 2019, federal and local law enforcement began investigating gang-related drug dealing and related violence in north Hartford. As part of the investigation, police made controlled purchases of fentanyl and crack cocaine from DeJesus, according to prosecutors.

DeJesus was arrested on state charges Aug. 28, 2019, and at the time he he possessed fentanyl and crack packaged for distribution.

DeJesus was arrested on federal drug dealing charges Sept. 13, 2019. In a search of his Andover Street home, investigators found about 73 grams of fentanyl, more than two grams of crack, and items used to process and package drugs for street sale.

DeJesus has been detained since arrest. In February 2020, he pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine base (“crack”).
