Hartford Sergeant Stole From Department: PD
The police sergeant had previously been arrested and suspended.
HARTFORD, CT — Hartford Sgt. Justin Torniero, 34, was arrested for stealing a ballistic vest and mountain bike from the department, according to police.
An internal investigation found that he used cocaine and alcohol while in uniform, according to the Hartford Courant. He was suspended without pay in December 2017 after being arrested for using a police vehicle during off-duty hours without permission.
Bail was kept at $175,000 for his most recent arrest.
