'Hartford Taste' More Than Just A Food Festival

The 2023 edition of 'Hartford Taste' will take place June 9-10, offering up a fair share of food, art, music and community.

HARTFORD, CT — Organizers of this weekend's annual Hartford Taste in Connecticut's capital city summarize the event with just four words: "food, art, music and community."

All four will be in abundant supply Friday, June 9, and Saturday, June 10, at Constitution Plaza near Columbus Bouvevard downtown. It will take place from noon to 9 p.m. both days.

And if you don't have specific directions to the location, just stick your nose out of your car window and smell.
It will lead you to 30 different participating restaurants selling a diverse array of culinary offerings at what is being billed as a "two-day block party."

Proceeds of food ticket sales support Connecticut Foodshare, which is the state's food bank that helps those in need.

In addition to a tasty array of locally-based food sellers, however, there are also about 30 musicians playing on two stages, with live art demonstrations planned as well.

As part of the program, The Hartford is paying for all of the vendor fees for participating restaurants, allowing them to participate for free.

"The City of Hartford boasts a diverse array of talented small business owners, whose offerings reflect the vibrancy of our region," wrote event organizers in an announcement.

"This event provides an opportunity to showcase our local small businesses while building community."
