Hartford Women Charged With Food Stamp Fraud: Authorities
In separate incidents, the women are accused of bilking the state out of a total of $21,614 in benefits.
HARTFORD, CT — Two Hartford women have been charged in separate incidents with stealing a combined $21,614 from programs financed by the Connecticut Department of Social Services.
Yamaira Rodriguez, 30, and Meesha Wallace, 37, both of Hartford, were charged Tuesday by inspectors from the Statewide Prosecution Bureau of the Office of the Chief State's Attorney.
Both were charged with first-degree larceny and making a false statement.

According to her arrest warrant, Rodriguez received $18,353 in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits she was not entitled to from February 2020 to July 2022.
Rodriguez was released on a promise to appear in Hartford Superior Court Friday.
