Hartford Youth Charged in 'Knockout Game' Assault

The teen was caught on video punching an elderly man in the back of the head, police said.

HARTFORD, CT- A city juvenile was arrested after he was caught on camera assaulting an elderly man, accoridng to police.

Police became aware of the assault after the video was shared at Hartford High School, according to the Hartford Courant.

The "knockout game" as it is called involves a surprise attack on an unsuspecting victim. The goal of the twisted "game" is to knockout the victim with a single punch.

The victim wasn't seriously hurt, but was sent to the ground by the surprise punch to the back of his head, according to News 12.

The juvenile admitted to the attack, but said he thought the man would attack his friend. He was charged with third-degree assault on an elderly person, second-degree reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.
