HHC Youth Suicide Prevention Hosts Virtual Class

The class on Sept. 9 will include a panel and question and answer session

In conjunction with World Suicide Prevention Day, the Hartford HealthCare Behavioral Health Network is hosting a virtual class to address suicide prevention in youth and adolescents, with a focus on marginalized communities, on Friday, Sept. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

In this free virtual session, hear from experts in the field of suicide prevention who will discuss mental health awareness, current data trends related to suicide, how to identify signs of increased risk for suicide, and treatment interventions. They will also talk about available resources for those who may be struggling, family and loved ones.

The key presenter will be Wizdom Powell, PhD, MPH, Chief Social Impact and Diversity Officer at Headspace Health and Research Associate Professor of Psychiatry at UConn School of Medicine.
