Update: I-91 Crashes In Hartford, Wethersfield Cleared

Multiple lanes were shut down due to two separate wrecks on the highway.

WETHERSFIELD/HARTFORD, CT — Interstate 91 northbound was a mess Wednesday afternoon due to two separate accidents in the same area, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The DOT said a one-vehicle accident on I-91 north in Wethersfield happened between exits 24 and 25 at about 12:59 p.m., resulting in the left lane being closed.

As of 1:38 p.m., state officials said that accident was now cleared.

A short time later, just over the border in Hartford, a single-vehicle accident on I-91 north between exits 29A and 32 happened at about 1:07 p.m., according to the DOT.

This crash resulted in the left and center lanes being closed, according to state officials.

That accident, according to the DOT's Twitter feed, was cleared at about 2:32 p.m.
