Illegal Injection Lawsuit of Somers Inmate to Hit High Gear in Hartford

A trail could begin this week, records indicate.

SOMERS/HARTFORD, CT — The trial phase is set to begin this week in the case of an inmate who claims authorities illegally administered mind-and behavior-altering drugs while he was in custody.

The Hartford Courant reported that jury selection in the case of Kacey Lewis is scheduled to begin Tuesday in federal court in Hartford and a jury trial is set to start Thursday.

Judicial system records indicate that Lewis was shackled and subdued with pepper spray and then received 42 injections at Northern Correctional Institution in Somers.
