ImmaCare Appoints Aaron Jones, MSW, LCSW, as New Executive Director
Jones succeeds longtime Executive Director Louis Gilbert, who led ImmaCare for 13 years, becoming the organization's seventh ED

Hartford, CT —ImmaCare, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing shelter, permanent and affordable housing, and supportive services to individuals experiencing homelessness, announced the appointment of Aaron Jones, MSW, LCSW, as its next Executive Director. Jones will officially begin his role on August 31, succeeding Louis Gilbert, who has led the organization for the past 13 years.
Following a comprehensive national search led by ImmaCare’s Board of Directors and Search Committee, with assistance from The Strategy Group, LLC, Jones was selected for his extensive leadership experience, commitment to serving vulnerable populations, and strong alignment with ImmaCare’s mission and values.
“Aaron brings an exceptional combination of executive leadership, experience in homeless services, and a deep commitment to improving outcomes for the people we serve,” said Sheila Azor, President of ImmaCare’s Board of Directors. “We are confident that his experience and vision will position ImmaCare for continued growth and impact throughout the Greater Hartford region.”

Jones brings more than 18 years of leadership experience in nonprofit organizations, homeless services, community engagement, and executive leadership within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Most recently, he served as Associate District Director for the VA, where he oversaw operations for 21 outpatient clinics across two states, leading more than 200 employees, managing multimillion-dollar budgets, and directing major capital projects.
His career began with direct service to veterans experiencing homelessness, connecting individuals with housing and critical support services. Throughout his career, Jones has developed partnerships among government agencies, healthcare providers, nonprofit organizations, and community stakeholders to improve outcomes for vulnerable populations.

Jones said he was drawn to ImmaCare’s mission and its commitment to person-centered services.
