Lamont Names Key Administration Members

Gov.-elect Ned Lamont announced his picks for chief of staff and budget secretary.

HARTFORD, CT — Gov.-elect Ned Lamont announced that Ryan Drajewicz will serve as his chief of staff and Melissa McCaw will be his secretary for the Office of Policy and Management.

Drajewicz is the executive director of Lamont's transition team and most recently was a senior management associate at hedge fund Bridgewater Associates. He also worked in U.S. Sen. Chris Dodd's office for nearly a decade.

“I am looking forward to helping the Governor-elect make his vision for Connecticut a reality,” Drajewicz. said. “I know he is prepared to make the tough decisions that will move Connecticut in the right direction.

McCaw is the current chief financial officer and director of budget, management and grants for the City of Hartford. She was previously the budget director for the University of Hartford and a budget specialist in the OPM office. She will replace Gov. Dannel Malloy's budget guru Ben Barnes who was recently named the CFO for Connecticut State Colleges and Universities.

“I look forward to achieving the Governor-elect’s vision for a budget and policy plan that addresses Connecticut’s fiscal crisis, spreads out economic opportunity, and helps grow Connecticut’s middle class,” McCaw said. “It's been an honor to serve the constituents of Hartford as part of Mayor Bronin's Administration, and I am honored to have the opportunity to serve in the Lamont-Bysiewicz Administration. I am excited to take on this challenge with a team of smart, driven individuals who are committed to our state’s future.”
