The Good News is the East Hartford Summer Youth Festival (EHSYF) is celebrating 60 years of providing entertainment for the community and a learning experience (and a whole lot of fun for its members since their inception in 1964.
The Bad News is, for the first time in all those years, East Hartford Public Schools does not have a space for them.
The Good News is the Town of East Hartford, wanting to help this treasured organization, has offered the auditorium in the Community Cultural Center, where EHSYF will rehearse.

The Bad News is EHSYF cannot produce a full-scale musical in this auditorium. (There is no backstage space – where will the cast go when they are not on stage? Where will the sets go when they are not on stage? There is no way to get from one side of the stage to the other. There is no fly space for backdrops. Sound and lighting are limited.)
The Good News is East Catholic High School has the facilities and availability for EHSYF to perform there for this one, homeless summer.

The Bad News is East Catholic needs $8,000 to provide staff and the facilities. EHSYF is a registered not-for-profit that simply does not have these funds.
