TheaterWorks Hartford, under the direction of Artistic Director Rob Ruggiero and Managing Director Jeff Griffin, presents the sixth and final performance in the 24/25 Living Room Series, featuring local jazz artist Haneef Nelson. The Living Room Concert Series at TheaterWorks Hartford is an intimate concert experience that brings local musicians, visiting artists, and the Greater Hartford community together for an experience that feels like home. The series is curated by Erica Tracy Sullivan, and is sponsored by Stephanie A. Johnson.

HANEEF NELSON, a revered performer and educator, takes the stage with Tyler Sherman on bass and Scott Sasanecki on guitar. Kick back as he explores a solid mix of Jazz, Bossa Nova and R&B leaning into a mix of music from his childhood and life-long musical journey. Haneef has performed around the globe with the likes of Yoron Israel, Avery Sharpe, Bill Saxton, and Paul Brown among many others.

Born in Brooklyn and raised in Uniondale, NY, Nelson was introduced to the trumpet at age 12 and began studying with the Jazzmobile before entering the Long Island High School of the Arts. He attended the African-American Music Department at the Hartt School and studied with Jackie McLean as well as Steve Davis, Nat Reeves, Raymond Williams, Chris Casey, Mary DiPaola, and Roger Murtha. His original music and Big Band arrangements have been featured around the world.

The Living Room Concert Series is curated by Erica Tracy Sullivan, with tickets starting at $20. More information is available at twhartford.org.
